More than a week late and not for the window indicator, but wouldn't it be cool to get some sort of indication of number of views your videos are getting on the runner? Rather than it be "at random" it could display 1 blast for every 10 views or something. I think you'd probably want to limit it to 1 blast on each one of the panels every 5 seconds so you don't have a strobe. You could do 1 green dot for 100 views and 1 red for 1000 view in the last 5 seconds.

if the length is set to a "brightness", why not have the command activate the brightness to 80% (or desired length)?

U can use the lights on the window as an progress bar to your prints or something u need to keep doing while u do other things (Don't if it is possible, but i think is a good application) U can also segmentate te corners to use it as a a multi progress bar, like: Left corner is printer 1, Right corner printer 2 and etc.

I have no idea how complicated this would be, but could you connect the arduino to every printer? Then, when nothing is printing, the window is in a sort of ready state (blue?), then, when it detects one or more print jobs, it could turn red (or something) to indicate printing, and then turn green when a print finishes? That would be neat.
